In northeastern Chicaque, a small high Andean forest basin gathers the crystal waters that make up the Velez Creek. This creek finds its way through the forest over a small rock bed that suddenly ends in a precipice where the waters leap into a 70 meter (230 ft.) gorge.

The Waterfall ("Cascada") trail leads to where the plummeting waters meet the ground once again, surrounded by beautiful green mosses and red iron rocks.

This circuit trail crosses forests of lush, diverse vegetation bordering beautiful sheer rock walls. Those who walk with stealth and a keen eye are sure to cross their paths with native fauna.

If you have the time and the legs, be sure to not miss out on this fantastic trail.
