Chicaque is located in the Municipality of San Antonio del Tequendama, just 30 minutes from Bogotá.
You can arrive by car, public transport or using the Chicaque Express.
Getting to Chicaque
By car via La Mesa
You can reach the road that takes to the town of La Mesa by leaving Bogotá by the west, taking Calle 13 and going by the town of Mosquera, or calle 80 and going through the town of Funza and then by the town of Mosquera. Use the ticket you are given at this toll and hand it to the operator at the next toll to get through without paying again. A few meters after the Mondoñedo toll, you'll see a road on the left, take this road. You'll find another toll, present the ticket that was given to you before. Keep on this road for another 3 kms (1.86 miles) until you reach a sharp turn to the left, you'll see a small dirt road on the right, and a large sign that says "Vereda Cascajal". Take the dirt road and keep on it until you reach the Park entrance (about 3 kms -1.83 miles), the road ends at the park.
On this route you'll find tolls on Calle 13, at Funza, and Mondoñedo.
By public transport
To get to Soacha you need to take Transmilenio to the "Terreros/Hospital" station. Once at the "Terreros" station you need to head for the pedestrian bridge you'll find to your right upon exiting the bus, and once on the bridge make a left, heading west. Take a small "colectivo" bus marked SOACHA COMPARTIR, SOACHA CIUDAD LATINA or SOACHA SIBATÉ. They will take you to soacha for $1000 pesos. Ask the driver to drop you of at the Mobil Gas Station located at "El Altico". Once there, take a black or white Coomofu "colectivo" bus, ask the driver to drop you off at the dirt road that leads to Chicaque, you'll see a large green sign that says "Chicaque". You'll have to walk for about 3 kms - 1.86 miles, until you reach the park entrance, the dirt road ends there.
To get to Mosquera, go to Transmilenio's "Portal de la 80" station and take a bus headed for Mosquera. Once there, take a black or white Coomofú "colectivo". Ask the driver to drop you off at the dirt road that leads to Chicaque, you'll see a large green sign that says "Chicaque". You'll have to walk for about 3 kms - 1.86 miles, until you reach the park entrance, the dirt road ends there.
By car through Soacha
You may get to Chicaque by leaving Bogotá by the south, going through the town of Soacha. You need to take the "Autopista Sur". To get to "Autopista Sur, you can take Av. 68, the NQS, or Boyaca Avenue. In Soacha, please be on the lookout for these points of reference: a mall called "Mercurio", a "Metro" store, and a "Homecenter" store; and ahead these, two pedestrian bridges. After the second pedestrian bridge, make a right immediately after the Mobil gas station. Stay on this road until you reach a small roundpoint, make a left and keep on this road for 7 Km (4.35 miles), until you reach a sharp right turn, and a small dirt road on its left. You'll see a large sign that says "Vereda Cascajal". Take the dirt road and keep on it until you reach the park entrance (about 3 kms - 1.86 miles), the road ends at the park.
*ON SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS, SOME OF THE ROADS IN SOACHA ARE CLOSED DUE TO "CICLOVIA". DO NOT MAKE A RIGHT AFTER THE MOBIL GAS STATION, KEEP GOING ON THE AUTOPISTA SUR UNTIL YOU REACH A SIGN THAT SAYS "MOSQUERA - LA MESA, FOLLOW THE INFDICATIONS ON THE ROAD SIGNS. YOU'LL END UP ON THE ROAD WHERE YOU'LL FIND THE SHARP TURN TO THE RIGHT AND THE DIRT ROAD ON THE LEFT, THAT LEADS TO CHICAQUE.
There are no tolls on this route.
On weekends, Chicaque offers transportation leaving from Transmilenio's southernmost station, "Terreros/Hospital", to the park entrance.
Once at the "Terreros" station you need to head for the pedestrian bridge you'll find to your right upon exiting the bus, and once on the bridge make a left, heading west.
When you come off the bridge you’ll find a cobbled "plazoleta" where you'll see several small establishments, including one with a green and white signs that says "Servientrega" You'll find the Chicaque shuttle or jeep parked nearby. There will also be a person wearing an orange vest with the Chicaque written in green. This person can lead you to the transport.
This transport has a cost of $6,000 pesos. A minimum of 6 people or the $25,000 fee is required.
If you wish to hire the Express Transport service outside of it’s regular Schedule, the fee is $25.000 pesos for up to 4 people, for 5 or more the regular $6,000 fee applies.
